Colville Trip April '09

In mid-April, we went to my mom and dad's in Colville, to visit them as well as some old school friends of mine that I haven't seen in about 12 years (since weddings, etc.) Grandma made us some fancy Italian coffee drink with some rich chocolate stuff and whipped cream on it. She made the kids their own "fancy" drink with everything but the coffee.
This is Ashlyn prior to taking the first sip.....
...and Ashlyn tasting for the first time. A little richer, stronger than she was expecting!!

Cody having his own little taste.
My drink...

Grandma wearing her chocolate-dyed shirt from Florida.

We enjoyed the new hot tub area that grandpa put in. He took out their old tub, built this new pad for it and bought a new hot tub - new and definitely improved!

Grandma had some luau decorations, so with the hamburger BBQ we were planning to have, the kids got to decorate Hawaiian style.

Grandpa - who just turned 60, by the way. Happy Birthday!!

Daddy being festive

And Cody - not afraid to fit in even if it means wearing a flower crown :)
Grandma - who will be also having the big 6-0 birthday soon!

And our little hula girl in a genuine hawaiian dress that G&G brought her from Hawaii.

Back at home - enjoying the pretty flowers we planted

This poor little lizard was daring enough to expose himself at the guys job site, only to be captured in a cardboard box and brought home to 3 VERY excited kids. We made a nice house for him and attempted to catch bugs to feed him, but after a few days, we needed to let the poor little guy go. He was let go on the ground outside Ashlyn's window, so the kids feel very happy that he "lives" in that little area (though we've never actually seen him there!). His name is Spikey.
Cody told us the other day that his favorite "meeting" is convention - because "Der's wizards der!!" They often find lizards there :)

Ashlyn and her good friend Molly made cookies all by themselves with a cookie kit we had.
