Thanksgiving in Montana

The 1st graders had a Thanksgiving feast at school where they got to wear the special pilgrim/indian hats they'd made. Ashlyn and two of her friends, Emily and Haylee.

Rebekah spent a night with us since she was in the area the week of Thanksgiving - it was fun to have her and Chloe here!

Ashlyn and Leah

We went to Burt and Jay Buckingham's in Thompson Falls, MT for Thanksgiving along with the rest of the Sanderson family. It was good to enjoy the beautiful, quiet, peaceful area that they live in! Ashlyn was super excited to see Mandy's horse.....of course...

There was some beautiful frost, but only a slight dusting of snow while we were there.

The beautiful country-style Thanksgiving table with quilted linens made by Jay.

Sarah using her artistic skills on the olives and pickles!

Burt was caught in the kitchen!

Jay was caught on the couch!

(No, really, she was working hard all day in the kitchen with the meal preparations, but I just happened to get a picture that implies the opposite!)

Dad Sanderson arrived in time to cut the turkey!

The big boys sweated and slaved over basketball.... :)

Cody found lots of fun imagining he was riding the motorcycle that he talked for months about! He remembered from a year ago that Buckinghams had a dirt bike - little things like that don't slip HIS memory! He was just practicing wearing the helmet here until he finally got to ride it later on.

Auntie Care Bear entertaining some quiet time.

Caleb scrutinizing his Thanksgiving plate to see if it all meets his appetite desires....

After a big meal, a few of us go on a little walk to burn some of it off!

We met some beautiful scenery along the way.

A blue and purple mountain just before sunset...

...and then the full-blown sunset itself!

This little guy settled down for a long winter's nap after all that hard Thanksgiving work!

Since Ashlyn is missing a mouthful of teeth, auntie Carolyn decided to fill her wishes of "All she wants for Christmas is her two front teeth" and gave her some a little early! SOOO nice of you, auntie Carolyn - she even upgraded to BLING BLING gold!!!!

All tuckered out...

Auntie Julie - with a great hold on Cody!

I was impressed by the beautiful-colored rock around the acreage. Alot of it was full of colored layers, and others were solids of green, purplish, yellowish, etc. that made a really neat mixture together.
A little target practice - Leah, Julie and I got turns too!

Cody making friends with Whisper. He's not one bit afraid!

In fact, this friendship called for a kiss!
Football game - Buckingham's vs. Sanderson's
Ashlyn made a few festive hats for some cooperative recipients! Wade got a pilgrim hat that he thought was an airplane. Sarah received a lovely turkey shaped one!

We took the kids on a little country-side stroll to look for wild turkey.

Mandy very kindly spent some quality time giving the kids rides on her horse, to Ashlyn's absolute delight.

Ashlyn and Caleb
Cody alternated between riding the horse and the dirt bike with dad.

A little snuggle with Wade :)

Cousins get a little help from Caleb

The whole Buckingham/Sanderson clan

Until next time.......

So much fun to look at all the pictures from up at mom and dad's! I'm excited to get there soon for a little time... how is everyone? Hope you're all well, and enjoying the winter weather!

It can't be that long since we last saw you, can it? It seems like the kids have grown up so much! It's always fun to see all of your adventures!
