Here the hikers pose for a quick picture (via timer!) before the big expedition... they are buzzing with anticipation for the big climb....
I think we all know who this is!!
...and we're off, sidekick #1 and sidekick #2 ("helping" daddy up the hill)
Well, Cody made it 20 feet before he decided he needed a break! That looks a little too comfy...
As we pause for lunch, what fun we had in creating a little snowlady with jelly bean eyes, chip mouth, napkin hat and a string of beads! It's amazing what one can find in a backpack...
Taking longer to get in and out of the backpack, Cody continued to rest in there for lunch!

Aaaahhhh...we're almost there!
The brave young hikers, use their trusty dusty sticks to stabilize their footing....
We went where no man's gone....
Caleb's thinking "oh man, I'm so wiped out from riding in this backpack all the way up here..."
Is that a storm blowing in, threatening the brave climbers? Nope, just a little mist... whew!
Aahhh, the "top of the mountain" experience! (well, who's really defining "top" anyway?) - we were up high enough for that day :)

The successful climbers conquered the treacherous mountain (well, as far as we wanted to go!)

A distant view of our little neighborhood (we're the middle lightest color one out front) - and Granite Ridge, home of the spec house. I'm enjoying the zoom on my new camera!
....and the weary travelers headed home!

The End
