Memorial Day 09

Chelan had their annual Memorial Day parade, so the kids, for the 4th time this spring, re-stocked their candy pile and waved enthusiastically at the participants. Think that should do us til next parade season!
Of course, we got a second glimpse of the one and only Miss Lake Chelan, Rachelle Anderson! Go Rachelle :)

Cody and Ashlyn attempting to swing Wade in the beach blanket

Rylan, Ashlyn and Cody walking the long spit of sand.

All snuggled up and bein' sweet!

I want his job!
I love the variety of aircraft flying around the lake.

Aunty Care Bear came for a short stay.

A pretty good pose, with the exception of one little guy hiding his face...

...and then an attempt at G&G with all the grandies.

Our second pet lizard came home for a short stay. We'd convinced the kids to let the first one go, but this little guy didn't seem to like his home under the bike seat. I don't know why, with it looking like a natural environment and full of scrumptious food!

When asked where the lizard was, Caleb opened his bike seat, proudly put his hands on his hips and exclaimed "right there!!"

We met Jason & Sarah with Julianne and Kevin and Martha out at the lake and enjoyed some time on the long sandy bar that soon disappeared afterwards with the rising lake level. Ashlyn enjoyed sharing her fruit snacks with little Brielle.
Us gals

At a picnic dinner Cody explored the rocks

Our little bathin' beauty
Our little fish - out of water.

Looks like there's a few problems - both upstairs and downstairs :)
Other than that, he's in good shape to go! Breathing with the nose portion of the mask on your forehead could be somewhat difficult I s'pose.

Ashlyn and her good friend Molly and sister Ashley unintentionally gave us a sailor's salute while trying to shade the sun from their eyes.

Our friends Fran and Eric (Molly's parents) joined us for a boat ride and a little swimming.

Some backyard camping is a must for the summer... We actually slept on the trampoline, but the kids spent several hours the next morning playing "camping" with the sleeping bags on the lounge chairs!

Loved this mid-air pose!
Our trampoline keeps real clean with the slippery soap suds we frequently put on it.

Ashlyn's school had a PTA game day that I was able to volunteer for, so this is the station that I supervised. The kids got to be "swallowed" by the caterpillar, run through it's insides and enjoy scenic sites like baby caterpillars and other things along the way, then climb up it's rear and slide out the back!! The kids all seemed to come out in one piece fortunately, and came back repeatedly for more turns of digestion.
Ashlyn is on the top right, with her friend Emily right below her.
Cody got to take a turn and did quite well - he's on the right - just look for the white hair!

Cody and Caleb had fun pulling some weeds with me and were so excited if they got the "woot" out of the ground with it!
