A few weeks ago we took an impromptu trip to Sequim for Grandpa Kitchen's 85th birthday. When we got there, Ashlyn set up a big "meal" for us in the daycare room. It was the best plastic I've ever tasted!

And then there was some Fancy Nancy parading around after the meal.

Caleb feeling oh-so-proud in his little get-up.

The boys quite willingly fit with Fancy Nancy!

And Grandma made "fancy" ice cream dessert in fancy bowls

On Fri. night, we went to Grandpa Kitchen's 85th birthday party, Hawaiian-style. The sisters all did an awesome job decorating and the food was fabulous!

The birthday boy

Cody hopped right up on great grandpa's lap and sat there for quite awhile.

Just a section of the fab feast...

I liked the festive fruit salad in the pineapple

Cake time! Obviously, there weren't 85 candles- they nicely spelled out Happy Birthday instead.

As always, Cody helps blow out the candles :)

With a little Luau music playing, Mike Gunter was the first guinea-pig hula dancer. There was some major arm-twisting going on for the next candidates! Mike did a great job :)

And to top it off, G. Kitchen even struck a pose.

It looks like Granpa's birthday was extra special...yay! The boys definitely do make lovely Fancy Nancy's...however they don't know that those pictures will come out to haunt them when they're 16! :-)
