Dec 08

We got our first snow on Dec. 12th, just in time for Ashlyn's class to take a field trip to visit Santa's reindeer. As soon as school was out, Ashlyn wanted to build an igloo and got right to work! The low teen temperature called for some hot cocoa!

The next day, we went to visit the Whaley mansion here in town and see the festivities. It's a local sponsored event at a big old house where "Santa", his reindeer and Mrs. Claus visit with the kids and get a free picture, along with homemade chocolates, hot cider and a treat bag that includes a book, stuffed animal, mug and various goodies.

Checking out the fun train set :)

Visiting with the big guy himself.

And the ever-lovely Mrs. Claus!

Don't know what happened to the other 6 reindeer, but they only brought 2 of them to Chelan....

Ashlyn helped me carry some holly sprigs that weren't going to be used.

my big baby :)

An impromptu photo on self-timer

Ashlyn's school had their holiday concert - this is the first grade class. If you have a pair of binoculars handy, you can see Ashlyn on the far right, first row, second one in!

And if you don't have binoculars, here's a fuzzy close-up. (my camera doesn't seem to like indoor lighting with a zoom).

Ashlyn and two of her very good friends, Molly and Emily. Just wait another 8 years - yikes!

my two lil' "twins"

Mommy said, "Even tho you're freezing, can I snap a picture because you look so cute?"
